This year, early March, the big Samsung Company was announcing the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones at the most important Mobile World Congress in Spain, Barcelona.
In the meantime, the two devices have become available for purchase trough popular US mobile carriers.
Now, the AT&T variant of the specified devices, Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is getting a software update named Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware.
According to AT&T official support page we can see that the new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is being released to the owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones.
As you probably know that, the device is running Android 5.0 update out of the box, and that means all the Lollipop specific features such as Smart Lock, Material Design, lock screen notifications, multiuser, Screen Pinning, Android runtime, improved battery statistic came pre-installed.
According to the same changelog from AT&T official website, the new update comes with new screen rotation enhancements, battery performance improvements, HD voice screen, changed power key press time from 0.5 s to 1.5 s, AT&T Message and more.
The new release, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge devices is being released to its devices in phases, which means that it could take some time until it becomes available for all S6 devices.
When on your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge device’s notification panel appears a new notification with the Android 5.0.2 firmware availability you can start to download and install the same. All that you need to do is to tap on this message, select “download now”, wait until the download is completed and then select “Install Now”.
Your device should reboot and install the new update. Alternatively, you can check for the new update by manually under Settings>About device>Software update>Check for updates. The new firmware update is also available with KIES software, so if you want to install the same by using KIES so should grab your USB cable, connect your S6 device to the computer, and open the Samsung KIES app.
Note, that the new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge device has build number LRX22G.G925AUCU1AOE2 and a size approximately 240 MB. So, if you will use the OTA method for download the new update, we are strongly recommending you to download the update file using a stable WiFi internet connection in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
