You Can Now Send Money to Friends Using Skype

Have you been using SKYPE only for the video chatting purposes? Oops! If you’re using Skype, you should be more than excited to know that you can now send money using the app. Yes, you read it right! Skype’s this feature is powered by PayPal. If you already have a PayPal account, you can directly use it or build a new one to use this feature.

For those with an existing PayPal account, it is tremendously easier to send money to someone on chat. This is applicable for those who are in one of the 22 supported countries including U.S., Canada, the UK, and any other country in the Eurozone except Monaco and Vatican City. This way in many countries this feature is going to simplify money transaction.

How you can send money using Skype:

  • During a Skype conversation, tap Find or Swipe to the right.
  • Tap Send Money from the list of add-ins.
  • Select the countries you and your friend live in and tap Next.
  • Enter the amount you’d like to send and tap Next.
  • Tap Send to complete the transfer of funds.

Please note that basis your payment mode, the currency to be transferred, and sending money to another country, you may incur PayPal fees. Therefore, it is recommended to take a look at PayPal’s transaction fees before using this feature.

To use the Send Money feature you’ll need the latest version of the Skype mobile app on Android or iOS.

There could be a lot of ways to send money to friends these days. So Skype’s PayPal integration isn’t completely new. However, it does provide existing PayPal users an easy way of sending money without facing any trouble.
