The official Android 7.0 Nougat update was released by Samsung for Galaxy S7 from SK Telecom and KT Corporation in Korea. The update has been released in stages and not all users will get it at the same time. If you own one of this devices and want to manually update your device to the last Android version check the given instructions from this post. In order to manually complete the installation of this update, you will have to use Odin 3.12.3 tool.

Before beginning the flashing process of the Android 7.0 Nougat update follow the below guidelines:

  • Read the whole post and do not skip any steps.
  • This manually flashing process needs to be used only by advanced users and we cannot be blamed in case you brick your device nor in case you lose data in the process.
  • Follow the tutorial from this post only for the Samsung Galaxy S7 G930K model from KT Corporation, or G930S model from the SK Telecom. Check your device’s model number under Settings-> About phone. Don’t try the tutorial for other different devices or models.
  • Download from here and install Samsung USB drivers on your computer. The USB drivers allow your computer to detect the device when these two are connected.
  • Enable USB Debugging from the Developer Options menu of your Samsung Galaxy S7 device. If the Developer Options menu is hidden, go to Settings-> About Phone and press 7 times on the Build Number. Then, get back to Settings and find Developer Options to enable USB Debugging option.
  • The update can be applied also on rooted devices, but you should know that the root access won’t survive the update flashing process. And also, any custom Recovery you might have installed on your device is going to be replaced with the stock Recovery image.
  • If you want to flash the new official Android Nougat firmware over custom ROMs you can, but you will have to Factory Reset your device after the update is completed.
  • The Factory Reset process will force your device to boot in normal mode. You should know that the Factory Reset will wipe clean the system partition, it removes the custom ROM, but it won’t remove any files from the internal storage of your device. You will find the Factory Reset process steps listed at the end of the tutorial.
  • If the Samsung Galaxy S7 device is running 100% official Android firmware, then you can go to the tutorial steps from this post.
  • Check the battery level of your device before starting the flashing process and make sure that there is more than 50% charge left before it switches off.
