How To Update Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport To Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

If you are a SPRINT Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport users, you have got a new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow official update, however, not all of the users are getting the update at the same time. The new update has been launched over-the-air for its Galaxy S5 sports user. If this is so, you can use this guide to restore your phone to stock Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in case a custom ROM is now running on their devices. However, to carry out the operation, you require certain things :

• Don’t try to use these instructions for any other phone.

• In case you are not sure of the phone model, go to Settings > About Phone.

• You will need to download Samsung USB Driver, click here, then install it on your PC. It will help detect to Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.

• Now you will need to install Android 6.0.1 update, use ODIN tool for this purpose.

• In order for ODIN to open on your computer, you will need to install USB drivers as described above and then enable the USB debugging option.

• If the Developers Option is not reflected in the Settings option, go Settings> About Phone and tap seven times on Build Number text to enable it.

• Download Android 6.0.1 G860PVPU2CPD1 archive .

• Now extract the files from the archive, you should avoid to unzip the G860PVPU2CPD1 tar.md5 file.

• Download Odin 3.10.7 from here, extract and save the ODIN on your computer.

• Switch off your phone and boot it into download mode.

• With the help of USB cable.

• Now go to Odin’s main screen, click the AP button.

• Find and load the G860PVPU2CPD1 tar.md5 firmware update.

• Press START button to begin Android 6.0.1 installation.

• When the process is complete, ODIN shows the PASS alert. After that the phone reboots in the normal mode. If you are booting the ROM for first time, it will take more time.

What happens if the process fails :

• Repeat the whole process as described above without skipping any step.

• In case the phone goes in the boot loop, put the phone in the ‘Factory Reset’ mode.

• To do that, power it off > boot it into recovery mode >Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
