Users who want to maintain track of new firmware development for their smartphones will want to know that new updates were certified by the PTCRB for Sony Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual devices.

According to Xperia Blog, it is an incremental update on the initial Android 4.4.2 KitKat build released by Sony Mobile that may include certain changes and bug fixing patches for the both smartphone models.

The build number 18.3.C.0.39 was certified by the PTCRB for Sony Xperia M2 that will replace the current 18.3.C.0.37 firmware for D2303 and D2306 models, and build number 18.3.B.0.32 was certified for Xperia M2 Dual D2302 model, which now runs the 18.3.B.0.31 firmware.

Firmware releases usually appear on the PTCRB website a number of weeks prior to being pushed out by Sony, so no schedule has been announced regarding the official rollout date for Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Dual.

Anyway, when the new firmware starts to rollout for your device, you will be informed by the system with a message in the notification panel to download and install the new update.

Additionally, you can head to Settings > About phone > Software updates > System updates and check for available updates for your handset.
