Root Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus with Odin and CF-Auto-Root

The CF-Auto-Root is an easier rooting method for Samsung devices. Thanks to the Chainfire, now you can easily root your Samsung S5 Plus devices using the one clock solution. You might already know that CF-Auto-Root is an easier way to reach root access on your Galaxy S5 device. In order to unlock and root your device, you can use ODIN application which is suitable and preferred flashing tool.
Odin application is an official Samsung tool that has been specially designed to flash ROMs and make other operations.
Prerequisites:
1. Before starting the rooting process, make full backup of your important data. Though it is unlikely to lose your data yet possibility is always there.
2. Rooting process will take some time and till that time you will be unable to get control over your device.
3. Charge your Samsung device to more than 65% to avoid bricking of phone or stopping of process in between.

1. Download ODIN and Samsung KIES from here
2. Download the CF Auto Root app as well
3. Now save all those files on PC and extract all those files on desktop
4. Now install the Samsung KIES app downloaded and use the software to install the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus USB drivers on PC
5. Install ODIN on your PC and when done, run it on your computer
6. Power off your Android device now and reboot the device into download mode.
7. To reboot in download mode press and keep pressing the Power, Home Button and Volume button at the same time for a few seconds
8. When your device has booted, connect it to your computer using the USB cable. You will find ODIN app displaying an added message saying that connection is successful and the ID:COM section should turn yellow or blue.
9. Now select PA from your ODIN application and select tar.md5 file extracted before.
10. Do not make any changes and press on the Start button
11. Wait for the rooting process to be done and verify if the ID:COM turns green and message – PASS will appear
12. Disconnect the USB cord and reboot the Galaxy S5 Plus device.

Troubleshooting:
Sometimes the device doesn’t boots to recovery mode. If this thing happened, redo above process but also check if the Auto Reboot option from ODIN is unchecked.

Pull the device battery out to turn off and boot the device again by pressing the three buttons. This will begin the installation process to root the SGS5 Plus.

In case your S5 device enters in boot loop then force enter your device to recovery mode and from recovery option, choose “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. In the end, go back to the main menu and select Reboot System Now.

If the ODIN app freezes or get stuck then close the application, disconnect your device from PC and restart forcefully. On your PC reinstall the USB drivers again and repeat the entire process. Your device will get rooted now. Check for SuperSU app in your app list.
