Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 LTE Variant Receiving Firmware Update 17.1.2.A.0.314

Xperia Z2

Sony started to roll out a minor firmware update for its Xperia Z2 flagship, a post on xperiablog reads.
It seems that the new update is intended only for D6503 LTE variant of the Z2 in Russia, Kuwait, Thailand and South Korea, but this update is still the Android 4.4.2.

Sony did not provide a change log for this new update, but if you are a user of the Xperia Z2 D6503 LTE variant in the mentioned countries, you should expect just minor changes mainly bug fixes and stability improvements.

The new firmware build is listed with number 17.1.2.A.0.314 but as said already the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS will remain the same until a future OTA firmware update will be released by Sony.

However, the new 17.1.2.A.0.314 build does not bring the Apps to SD card feature that was included in the latest update seen recently by the Xperia T2 Ultra devices.

At the moment there is no rooting possibility for this firmware update, which means that you have to wait for the next OTA software update. You can try to download the FlashTool FTF as it is available, but there is no guarantee the rooting would be successful or not.

If you received this latest firmware build feel free to share with us what changes and improvements you’ve noticed in our comment section below.
