As you may know that the new Android 5.1 Lollipop has already rolled out for Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) Wi-Fi variants, and Nexus 9, 10 devices. All these devices are Android based tablets, which means Nexus 5 Sprint device is the first smartphone from Nexus family to receive the newest Android 5.1.1 firmware update.

Note: because this new firmware is pushed out in stages for all Sprint Nexus 5 devices that are still running an official Android update on their smartphones.

So, if you’ve installed on your devices a custom ROM, then the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware update will not be ready for download, and it can be installed only by using a manual procedure especially provided for this installation. If you’re on stock Android, then you should receive the new automatically notification message to arrive.

Keep in mind that, use stable Wi-Fi connection in order to avoid going over your mobile data plan.
