This article will teach you how to manually install the latest leaked officially Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware with build version XXUBMF2.  It is leaked for Samsung Galaxy Grand DUOS GT-19082 device. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos device is currently running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware.

 

This new leaked Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update comes with numerous new features such as quick notifications, transparent notification bar, Light effect by unlocking, Smart Stay, Day dream, Page Buddy

This leaked firmware is only for test until the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Duos is  released.

Pre-requisites:

  • Download and install the suitable USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-19082 device.
  • The installation of the suitable drivers on the PC is required to connect the Android smartphone with the PC.
  • Now, make sure that the USB Debugging Mode is enabled on the smartphone. This allows the Duos device to be connected to PC and on the same time to use Android SDK with it.
  • To do this you need to go on the next path: Menu>> Settings>> Applications and from here tap on Development option and verify if the USB Debugging Mode is on, if not check it.
  • Take the backup of all of your important data, this will wipe out all of your data  of Grand Duos internal device’s memory.
  •  If the Grand Duos GT smartphone is installed on it a custom recovery image as CWM or TWRP, you can get a full backup for your actual ROM using NANDROID backup feature.
  • Make sure that the device battery of Samsung Galaxy Grand has enough power left at least above 85% level.
  • For applying, this leaked official ROM the Samsung Galaxy Grand device should be factory unlocked, and it should be also not locked to an individual or particular carrier mobile network.
  • In case you have a custom ROM or the Android device is rooted, after you apply this ROM the custom ROM and the root rights are revoked and also the CWM or TWRP recovery is replaced with a stock one
  • These  instructions work only with Samsung Grand Duos GT- I9082 device. Do not try to apply the same for any other similar device you can brick the same.
  • To verify the model number of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you should navigate to Settings>> About phone>> Model number.

 How to flash  I9082XXUBMF2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082  device:

  1. Download the leak Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean I9082XXUBMF2  file from here and save it in your PC.
  2. Now, extract the downloaded file and get a tar.md5 file together with a few other files.
  3. Download Odin 3.07 from here, save it on the PC, extract its content and get Odin 3 v3.07 exe file and other some files.
  4. Power off the Samsung Galaxy Grand device.
  5. Now, boot the smartphone into Download Mode. To do that press and keep holding the Home + Power + Volume Down buttons together.
  6. Open Odin3 v3.07.exe file with the administrator rights.
  7. Next, connect the Samsung Galaxy Grand device to PC, to make the USB cable while the device is in Download mode.
  8. Now, look on the Odin interface to make sure that the ID: COM box turn yellow with the proper COM port number and an Added message is displayed, that means the smartphone is connected successfully,
  9. In case the Added message isn’t displayed, try to connect the device on another USB port.
  10. If the Odin application fails to recognize, the connection between the device and PC, re-install the suitable USB driver once again.
  11. Now, after the connection between Android device and PC is successfully realized.
  12. The ODIN confirmed, you have to select the extracted from I9082XXUBMF2 folders to flash the same on the smartphone:a) From ODIN click the PDA button, search and load the .tar.md5 file
  1. b) Now, click the Phonebutton, search and load the file with MODEM c) Next, click the CSC button and load the file with CSC in its name.
  2. d) Click the PITbutton from ODIN, search and load the .pit file.

Note: Ignore these steps, in case the file from step b, c and d isn’t existing.

  1. Important: You have to configure the Odin settings. In ODIN window make sure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected.
  2. Uncheck the Re-Partition option from ODIN window select it, only in case a .pit file is being used (loaded previously).
  3. Now, when you want to start the installation process, click the Start button in Odin app.
  4. The flashing process should start immediately, and you need to wait about few minutes to be done.
  5. Now, when flashing process is successfully completed, the ODIN app will say a PASS message with a green background very top of the Odin app, and the Samsung Galaxy Grand device will restart automatically.
  6. After restart,  you can disconnect safely the USB cord from the PC.

Congratulations, now the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos should be running on the leaked official Android 4.2.2 XXUBMF2 Jelly Bean firmware.

Verify if the new firmware is running on the smartphone, to do that navigate to the following path Settings>> About phone and note down the firmware version running on the smartphone.

Troubleshooting:

  1. In case the Android device gets stuck at the first booting animation or it enters into a bootloop: Place the device in the recovery mode, to do this press and keep holding the Home+ Power + Volume UP buttons together
  2. Now, from the Recovery Mode select Wipe data/factory reset and after that select wipe cache partition option.
  3. Next, back on the main menu of Recovery Mode and from there select reboot system now option.

Note: For navigating between the Recovery Mode Menu, use the Volume keys and for select the desired option use the power button.

Remember that when you are performing a wiping action, this task will delete all the internal memory data stored on the device.
