Update Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 to Android 4.2.2 JB

The new Android 4.2.2 XWUAMH1 Jelly Bean Firmware has been released for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 by OTA. The new Firmware solves minor bug issues, which have been reported by the Tab 3 device’ users who had installed the Android 4.2.2 version initially. So, with this latest OTA update, Samsung has successfully removed such issues.

This new update can be downloaded and installed as an OTA update if you’ve already received an automatically update notification. You can also install the same by applying a manual flashing method. During this step by step guide, we will teach you how manually you can install the latest official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware.

The main advantage of this guide is that it can be used for un-breaking and un-rooting the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 device. Moreover, if you reinstall a stock Firmware on Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 device, the warranty will be restored. The new update comes only for fixing some bugs and no new features or apps are available with this version. This means, you can install this version only if you want to have a more stable variant of Android 4.2.2.

However, if you want to learn how to flash the latest stock Android firmware on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, you need to follow this instructional guide. This is an official Firmware and not a custom ROM, so the tutorial isn’t so hard to follow. While doing so, you need to know how to use the ODIN software.

 Pre-requisites and guidelines:

  • The warranty of the Tab 3 8.0 device will not get void after  using this systematic method.
  • Moreover, if the warranty of the device has been previously lost, with this official Firmware you can restore it.
  • The guide works for both rooted and un-rooted Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 devices.
  • During the flashing procedure, ODIN software is used which is a tool introduced by Samsung.
  • You need a Windows based PC, the USB cable and the TAB 3 device.
  • Disable or uninstall all the security tools from PC, otherwise these may pose a problem to the device.
  • The installation process requires a couple of minutes.  During this time the device must have 70% power left.
  • Enable the USB debugging option from the next path: “settings>applications> development”
  •  Back-up all your data stored into the device’ internal memory, even though the ODIN won’t wipe out the data. In some cases, after applying the Firmware the Tab 3 8.0 tablet might get stuck in a boot loop and to solve this issue a wiping out memory task is required and in that case you’ll lose all the data stored into device’ internal memory. So, before moving ahead, make a full backup of all your important data, configurations and applications.
  • All the instructions listed here and the files used in this guide work only with Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.8.0 model number T311, knowing that make sure, you don’t apply the same in any other variant of the device.
