Google’s sensation Android auto is fast gaining traction among car manufacturers though it’s availability is limited in certain geographies. As of now it was available in just 11 countries. However, this has started to change as it has been launched in 7 more countries.

The name of countries where this is available is Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, India, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Russia, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The main feature of Android auto is that you can access smartphone apps straight from car’s dashboard. You can also access maps, music, messaging, and variety of other apps such as Pandora, Skype and Spotify.

Even after today’s update, it lags far behind Apple’s CarPlay, which is currently available in 33 markets, including China.

Many car manufacturers have shown interest in installing Android features in their car dashboard such as Audi, Acura, Chevy, Buick, GMC, Ford and more. Many more are on the way to working with Google to install this feature.

Android auto functions like a plugin in laptop or desktop. It basically runs from your smartphone, but mirrors in car dashboard.
