As we informed you last week, the HTC One device has started to receive the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update in Europe. Today, HTC UK has officially announced that this latest update is available for the UK-based HTC One device.
Normally, an automatically notification should receive all the UK-based HTC smartphone owners in their devices by OTA. Otherwise, you can easily check the Software Update menu of your HTC One device, and there should be this new Jelly Bean firmware update available for download and install.
This latest update has been announced on the HTC UK Twitter account, where it has been informed that it will be available by OTA for HTC One UK edition, which means the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update will be available for all HTC One owners who lives in the United Kingdom. So, with this new update the HTC One users can test and use the new features which this update comes, features as new launchers, lock screen widgets, new widgets, new improvements in terms of customizations, tweaks, new modality to receive your notifications and other numerous new characteristics.
As we mentioned before, the new update can be verified if it is available or not by checking from Settings>About>Software Update and then click on the “Check Now” button. The new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for HTC One UK has firmware version 2.24.401.1, and it measures 416.45MB in size.
For installing this firmware, make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection available to download this file and after the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware pack file has been downloaded on your HTC One device, you need to follow all the on-screen instructions and the installation of this firmware doesn’t take more than 10 minutes.
After the new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One UK has been installed, you can verify its firmware version. There you should see the firmware version set to 2.24.401.1.
As you probably guess, the new update will bring for its users new Lock Screen widgets support as for other devices, which received this update already. It also comes with the possibility to disable the on-screen ‘menu key’, new quick settings for its notification bar, Lock AF/ AE in camera app, BlickFeed supports Instagram feature. Furthermore, you’ll be able to use the new DayDream function available for this latest update. For activating this feature, you should navigate to the next path: Settings> Display click on the ‘Daydream’ section, and there you can select from numerous options such as Clock, Colors, PhotoTable, PhotoFrame and so on.
In this moment, we don’t know when the HTC One Company will make officially available the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OTA update for UK carrier-branded HTC One smartphones, but I think will be very soon. In this moment, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update has already been released for Asian regions and other European countries.
