Sony Mobile affirmed that it would bring the Android 4.4.2 KitKat to Xperia E1 and E1 Dual smartphones sometime this month.
According to XperiaBlog, firmware version 20.1.B.0.60 has just been approved by PTCRB for Sony Xperia E1 Dual models number D2104 and D2105 and firmware version 20.1.B.0.61 for Xperia E1 Dual DTV version with model number D2114, which means that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will hit any of these handsets soon in the next couple of days.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat has not been certified yet for Xperia E1 single SIM variant, but it is expected shortly.
As you probably know the Android 4.4.2 update brought apps to SD card to Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, so this new feature is also expected for Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual, besides all the improvements and fixes that KitKat adds with it.
Although it is unknown exactly when the new firmware update will appear on these Xperia smartphones, we speculate that it will not take longer than a few days for Sony to start the rollout of the update.
