This Friday one of the most popular Android based device from Sony named Xperia M2 started to receive the new Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.
The new firmware is now available for SIM version of the Xperia M2 mid-ranger as version 18.3.C.0.37, in Xperia M2 LTE D2303 and HSPA+ D2305 device as 18.3.A.0.31.
This new firmware comes with new features such as new themes, new home launcher, new Quick Settings, new Sony Media apps, Portrait ReTouch capability for Sony’s social camera app and a new boot-up animation.
For those who are out of the loop the Sony Xperia M2 device is powered by an quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, an Andreno 305 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 8GB of native storage and a microSD slot that allows you to extend the device capacity storage up to 32GB. In addition,on device’s back cover we can see an 8MP camera sensor, and a 2300mAh battery.
The new Android 4.4.2 for Sony Xperia M2 device is available only by using the PC Companion software, in devices from Russia, Thailand, Singapore, and France, so it is not available as an OTA update.
Note that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware is not available for Dual SIM version of the Xperia M2 device.
