How To Boot Google Nexus 10 Recovery Mode

In this post we will teach you  an easy method to boot the Nexus 10 device into official Recovery Mode or in the custom recovery mode.

We will also teach you how to boot the device into recovery mode and to use its functions. If the Google Nexus 10 tablet uses a custom Recovery image, the device can offer you  a lot of features.  A custom Recovery (CWM or TWRP) isn’t available by default and officially, there is a stock Recovery. You will learn how to boot the device for both Stock and custom Recoveries images ( CWM or TWRP).

If the Nexus 10 device has a stock Recovery image installed, the tablet offers possibility to apply updates directly from ADB to wipe data and factory reset actions, wipe cache partitions and to reboot the tablet.

The custom Recovery images such as CWM or TWRP let you install new custom OS (CM, AOKP and more), to make custom installations, to apply new themes, format partitions of the system and more.

How to boot the Nexus 10 tablet into Stock Recovery:

  1. Firstly, turn off the device. .
  2. Press and keep holding the Volume Up, Volume Down and the Power button simultaneously.
  3. Keep the combination of the buttons pressed for a couple of seconds until the FastBoot Mode menu is displayed.
  4. Release the buttons when the Fastboot Mode menu will be displayed.
  5. Now, using the Volume buttons, select the Recovery Mode option from there.
  6. Now, press the Power button when the Recovery Mode is displayed (The Recovery Mode is displayed in the upper part of the Fastboot (menu).
  7. Now, when you’ll see an Android robot laid on the back part, press and keep holding the Power button and then press once the Volume Up button.
  8. The Recovery menu should now be displayed on the Nexus 10 device.
  9. Now, you should know how to boot into Stock Recovery for Nexus 10 device.

How to boot CWM, TWRP Recovery for Nexus 10 tablet:

  1. First, turn off the device.
  2. Now, press and keep holding the Volume Up, Volume Down and the Power buttons in together.
  3. Next, release the buttons when the FastBoot Menu is displayed.
  4. Press the Volume Up OR Volume Down button till you see the “Recovery Mode” text displayed.
  5. Now, press the Power button to load the Recovery Mode menu.
  6. The CWM and the TWRP Custom Recovery menu will be displayed.

If the Nexus 10 device is a rooted one and you don’t want to reboot it when it is turned off, you can select to flash a Custom ROM that allows you add Reboot section to Recovery Option to the Power Controls menu.

How to boot CWM Recovery for Nexus 10 by using the ROM Manager:

  1. First, download and Install ROM Manager app on the Nexus 10 device from here — Play Store link.
  2. Now, open the installed ROM Manager application on the Nexus 10 device.
  3. Next, press on the Reboot from the Recovery option and confirm.
  4. The CWM Recovery app will reboot the Nexus 10 device and will boot into the main menu.

How to boot TWRP Recovery for Nexus 10 with GooManager:

  1. Now, install the latest GooManager for Nexus 10 application ( link).
  2. Next, Open  GooManager on the Nexus 10 tablet.
  3. Press into GooManager app’s drop-down menu and from there select the ‘Reboot Recovery’ option and confirm.
  4. The Nexus 10 tablet will boot, and the TWRP Recovery will be displayed.
