The new CM 11 M12 update is now available for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 device for download.

Even though the new Android 5.0 Lollipop is released now, the new Cyanogen custom ROM is still build on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. Anyway, the CM team announced last week that the next CM version (CM11) will be released based on CM12.

The new CM11 M12 firmware for Nexus (4, 5, 7 and 10) devices comes to solve the POODLE vulnerability in SSLv3. Of course the new release comes with numerous bug fixes reported by other users and spotted by CM team in the previous custom builds. If you want to know more details about the new CM11 M12 build you can check out the official Cyanogen change-log from here.

The new build is now available for download on the CM’s website from here.

As you can see that the new custom builds are available for all the aforementioned Nexus devices, including the Nexus 7versions (2012 WiFi (grouper), 2013 WiFi (flo), and 2013 4G (deb)).

If you installed a custom ROMs before, then you need to know how to flash the new CM11 M12 on your Nexus device. All that you need to do is to unlock the device’s bootloader, then gain the root access, install a custom recovery, and download the CM11 M12 from here and the Android KK Gapps ZIP file from here. Transfer both files on your Nexus device and boot it into recovery mode, from there go to ‘install zip from sdcard’, then go to ‘choose zip from sdcard’ browse the new CM11 M12 file and the Gapps and flash them on your device. Note that to don’t forget to apply a factory reset.
