How to Download and Install Android 7.1 Nougat Update on Google’s Nexus devices

You probably know that lately Google has released a preview version of the new Android Nougat 7.1 that can be installed on Google’s Nexus devices and on other phones soon.

If you are a gadget lover you know that normally Google announces an upcoming Android previews at the Google developer conference that takes play in May. But this time Google has released an update preview of their OS earlier ahead of schedule that give the chance to the users to taste it and give feedback.

This new Android 7.1 Nougat update is a developer’s preview and the reason Google allows their users to get a taste of this new update before the official roll-out will help them optimize it  to give users an even better experience.

If you are a Google Nexus owner you can now install the new Android Nougat 7.1 beta version on your smartphone using the Android Beta Program method.

As more devices will be added next month to the list of the compatible devices with the beta version of Android 7.1 Nougat, for now the devices that can install it are Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, the Pixel C, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X and  Nexus Player.

How to Install the Android Nougat 7.1 Beta update

Please note that you can always uninstall the Android N Beta version by heading to the Android Beta Program page at g.co/androidbeta and tapping the Unenroll device button, right next to your Nexus device.

Before unenrolling, be sure that you back up all your data, as this process will wipe all data on your device
