Download Now Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA Firmware for Nexus 7 2013

The much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Google’s Nexus 7 2013 devices are now available for download.

As you may know that the factory images for the same Android-based device were made available for Google’s Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 2013 devices, so adventurous users had the great opportunity of flashing the newest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop a little bit earlier that everybody else, and for us was an important details that the OTA release shouldn’t to be far away.

But if you have decided to wait the official OTA update, we bring you good news, because now the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA update for Nexus 7 2013 device is rolled out to the users.

As you can imagine that the new release comes with minor enhancements so you will receive bug fixes and stability improvements. As usual, the newest firmware is roll-out gradually so you can expect different smartphones to be hit at different times, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install the update right away.

Once your Nexus 7 2013 device becomes eligible to receive the new update, an automatically update message in the notification bar will be displayed. All that you need to do is to tap on it and select ‘Download now’, then wait until the download process is done and then select ‘Install now’. Your device should get an automatically reboot and flash the new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update.

You can also take the proactive route and try checking for the new firmware update yourself by going to Settings > About device > Software update > Check now.

Before jumping to flash Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Nexus device, take into consideration that if you have a rooted tablet or are running a custom ROM (firmware), you will not be able to upgrade the device via an OTA update.

Alternatively, you can download the OTA ZIP file from here and to install the same on your Nexus 7 2013 WiFi by using the ‘adb sideload’ command. Keep in mind that your device must run Android 5.0.1 in order to be able to manually install the new update.
