The Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact devices from Sony received a certification for a new firmware update from PTCRB labs, meaning that, in the following days, the updates will hit the mentioned devices.
The previously firmware was version 14.3.A.0.757 and now we are talking about build number 14.3.A.0.761. Until now is know nothing about the fixes that will bring this new firmware, but as we can read on Xperiablog it seems is a minor update, which is expected to add small bugs fixes and improvements.
We hope that this firmware will be released, because as we know, although received PTCRB certification some updates did not go live. Sony had had in the past some updates that were certified, but probably because afterwards were found bugs, these just did not were initiated.
Users of Xperia Z1 experience camera issues and other bugs and they expect that this new firmware will fix their problems.
The 14.3.A.0.757 firmware fixed sound bugs, but it seems that are users that still encounter volume bug, hopefully now will definitely fix this.
When Sony will roll out a new firmware update will use the OTA method, but in case you do not receive an update notification on your Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, or Z1 Compact, you can try to pull the update manually by going in Settings->Software Updates-> and then Check Now option.
