How To Flash Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Official Update For Opening China Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Do you know that Open China has launched the official 6.0.1 Mashmallow OTA update for their Galaxy Note 4 users? In this article, you will learn to successfully flashing the new firmware on your smartphone. If are impatient for the update, you can get the update manually through ODIN app. Though, these updates are launched in different stages, but those users who have installed ROM are now looking to restore their Note 4 foe stock Mashmallow update.

Here are requirements before doing this:

  • This post is applicable only for Open China Samsung Galaxy Note 4 models. You should not apply this for any other model. You should check the model number by going to Settings > About Phone. If the model number is not SM – N9100 firmware, you should not apply this process.
  • Download the USB drivers from here, install it in your PC. You should know that Odin requires the latest USB
  • In case, you are not able to locate Developer option, you need to unhide it by tapping on build number 7 times. Now go Settings > Developer option > Enable USB debugging.
  • In case you phone has a custom ROM, you can flash the new official firmware update after resetting system in factory partition.
  • Factory Reset process removes the system partition, but does not delete internal storage data of your device. Factory resetting means removing old custom ROM and device boots in the normal mode.
  • Apply this process only when if you are advanced Android user. During the process if you cause any damage and brick your device, our team will not be held responsible. Also make sure that battery level in your phone is fully charged so that the process is not suddenly disrupted.

How to flash Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Open China N9100

  • Download the Android 6.0.1 N9100ZCU1DPH1 archive.
  • Once the download is done, you can extract the archived content. Now save the obtained files on your PC.
  • Get the N9100ZCU1DPH1 tar.md5 update file. Avoid unzipping this file.
  • Now, download Odin 3.10.7 zip file and unzip it.
  • Power off your smartphone.
  • Now boot it in the download mode and launch the Odin app.
  • Once you are done with this, connect your Android smartphone with PC via USB cable. Odin will detect the device automatically.
  • Go to Options menu, disable the ‘Repartition’ option. After that return to Odin and click AP button.
  • Locate N9100ZCU1DPH1 tar.md5 firmware update file in Odin.
  • Press START to launch the Android 6.0.1 update for your phone. Avoid pressing or touching any other button till Mashmallow files are updated.
  • You will see the PASS alert once the update is done.
  • Unplug the phone from computer.

Note 1:  If the Odin says FAIL alert message, repeat the process described above.

Note 2: If Odin shows PASS message, but phone enters into boot loop, factor reset your device.
