How To Flash Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update On Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Plus 9.7 LTE-A

This is fantastic news for all Android 6.0.1 update of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 LTE-A 9.7 model. Though the update is being rolled out in stages, but you can enjoy it after reading this post. It is to be noted that to apply this update, you need to be an advanced Android user. You also need Odin tool to use the process. If in case, you are running a custom ROM and you wish to restore your tablet to stock firmware, this works well.

You need to follow the guidelines given below:

  • The instructions given in the tutorial works well with 9.7 Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 LTE-ASM-T819. If you have any other model, don’t use these instructions. To check the model, you should go to About Phone.
  • It is important to download USB drivers and install them on your PC that helps you communicate your tablet from PC.
  • Odin is a great third party tool, but to use it you will need to enable USB debugging option.
  • If you are unable to find Developers option Menu, go to Settings> About Tablet and tap 7 times on the Build Number section to enable the USB debugging option.
  • If you have a rooted device having stock firmware, you will need your root access revoked. It is also possible that custom recovery can be replaced by a stock recovery image.
  • Factory reset your Galaxy Tab S2 Plus 9.7 device if its running a custom ROM. Remember that it will clean the Wipe Cache Partition. It also removes the custom ROM and brings your tablet to boot in normal mode.
  • Keep your phone 100% charged and don’t skip any step.

How To Install Android 6.0.1 MMU Update Manually For 9.7 Inch LTE-A Galaxy Tab S2 Plus

  • To download the Android 6.0.1 firmware, click on: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/93398/T819YDXU1APF9_T819YOLB1APF2_CAM/
  • When the download is over, save the files on your PC. This is T819YDXU1APF9 tar.md5 firwmare file.
  • Download Odin 3.10.7 from http://droidhost.org/H71jkq and unzip the file.
  • Power off your tablet and boot it into normal mode. To do that hold Volume down + Power button together.
  • Launch Odin exe on your tablet. Make sure that re-partition option is disabled.
  • Click the AP button in Odin and load the T819YDXU1APF9 tar.md5 firmware update file. Now, press Start button.
  • Avoid pressing any other button till the process is over.
  • You will see the PASS alert on successful flashing of Android 6.0.1.
  • Now detach tablet and PC.

Note 1:  If it fails, repeat all steps from above without skipping any step.

Note 2:  In case your device enters into boot loop, factory reset your device.
