Google Nexus Name Changed, It’s Now ‘Pixel’

It has been believed that Google’s Marlin and Selfish will have new name of Pixel and Pixel XL. There is no clarity about pricing as of now. There is also no information on why Google has decided to stop Nexus and want to launch new series of smartphone.

According to Android Police, “The Pixel will be the 5? Sailfish device, while Pixel XL will be the 5.5? Marlin.”

The confidence level in the information is very high. Even Android Central broke the news that the phones would not be branded as Nexuses. So the information about the next name seems true.

Some people believe that Marlin and Sailfish’s specifications could not garner the premium image for which they were targeted. Google has also said that the next phones will be of very premium quality and it will have a pure Google design and experience. Existing Sailfish and Marlin brand don’t help the case of Google now.

Google also plans to roll out and brand these phones as the first phone rolled out from the house of Google. Though, it is certain that it will be manufactured by HTC, only thing is that it will not have the branding of HTC. However, it is not clear how it will be able to convince user with this marketing strategy.  So it is almost certain that Nexus Is Dead. Long Live Pixel!
