Google Pixel Mac Transfer Issues: Exists Because of Out-Dated Android File Transfer Software

Those who own Google Pixel have already encountered a lot of issues with the device starting from the day one. From excessive battery drainage to unexpected shutdowns, deferred notifications and camera problems, problem areas are in plenty. The new in the list is an issue related to the transfer of files from the Pixel to a Mac. However, it is important to note that the problem doesn’t lie with Google Pixel but with Google’s primitive Android File Transfer software.

For most of the users, it’s quite clear that the Android File Transfer software they use is a bit out-dated. However, it is difficult to realize its version. It might be way back of 2012. After some struggle done in the testing phase, the problem seems to make its way to a lack of proper USB Type-C support in the program.

This logic makes some sense as the use of USB Type-C was not there in the year 2012. However, the problem is not as direct as the ancient software requires a quick refresh. The USB Type-C cable of Pixel also seems to have a role here, but it’s not problematic either. Unusually, utilizing the Pixel’s USB Type-C cable to move files to other devices seems to be perfect, as does exchanging the Pixel’s cable for another one.

If you’re looking for a reliable solution, there is an app called Handshaker that is known to work perfectly on Pixel including the cable to which you can switch to if you face problems. Google is supposed to take a note of this problem and come up with its own software. If you’ve devised your own ways to deal with the issue, don’t forget to share with us.
