Google merged the capabilities of Google Voice, its service of online calls with Hangouts, its messaging application, which has a real success on the Google+ social network. Hangouts for Android is now a complete mobile messaging system through which you can talk to your contacts or your group of friends, include photos, emojis and free video calls. Furthermore, you can connect with your contacts through Android and Apple computers and devices.
Thus, Hangouts for Android has just received a major update, reaching the version 2.3.0 with which you can initiate low-cost voice calls and free between Hangouts users, on the Skype model.
In order to be able to make voice calls from Hangouts, you need to download Hangouts Dialer from Google Play Store.
The navigation view with tabs for voice calls is compatible with your contact list, your SMS and voicemail from Google Voice.
The new Hangouts app for Android is rolling out slowly in the Google Play Store, but all Hangouts users will be able to update the application in the next few days.
