- Ensure that the USB Debugging Mode is enabled on the device, if not you can enable it by navigating to Settings>Developer Options or Settings> Application> Development.
How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 on Android 4.1.2 XXDMA5 Official Jelly Bean Firmware.
- Download CF-Auto-Root package for N7100XXDMA5 Firmware and extract it to get a .tar.md5 file in the extracted folder.
- Download the Odin v3.07, extract it to get the ODIN3 v3.07.exe along with a few other files.
- Power off the device and wait for its vibration to complete the device shutdown.
- Boot the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 device into Download Mode (press and keep holding the Volume Down and Home buttons simultaneously, while tapping in the same tie the Power button.
- A Warning message will be displayed, now hit the Volume Up button and you’ll enter into Download Mode.
- Open the ODIN3 v3.07.exe as an Administrator

- In ODIN, ensure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options are enabled.
- Verify once again all steps and then hit the Start button to start the installation process.
- Once the root pack is installed completely, the device will reboot and a PASS message will be displayed on the left-most box at the very top of ODIN application.
- Now, disconnect the USB cable from PC.
