How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 Smartwatch using ODIN app

By gaining the  root access on your Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 device,  you can install custom applications and to have access on its internal system.   • Ensure that the smartwatch battery has more than 50 % power left.
  • Apply this step by step guide only if you have a Samsung Gear 2 device runs on the next firmware: R380XXU0BNE5, R380XXU0BNDD and R380XXU0BND8.
  • Do not use this guide if your smartwatch is running on other different firmware.

How to root the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch using ODIN app:

  • Download ODIN app on your PC.
  • Download the root pack from here .
  • Unzip ODIN application and install this program by following the on-screen prompts.
  • Unzip the root file on your PC  Desktop. Enter your Gear 2 smartwatch in download mode (Turn off the smartwatch and then press the– volume down, power and home button together and hold it)
  • Run the ODIN application.
  • Now, connect the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 device with your PC by using the USB cable.
  • Once the connection is done the ODIN application, it should display the “added” message and the ID: COM section will turn yellow or blue.
  • If not, reinstall the drivers on your PC, and repeat all steps From ODIN click the ‘PA’ option, pick the root file from your PC.
  • Do not make any other change on the program and click on Start button.
  • The root process is started.
  • In the end of the rooting process,  the ODIN application will show the “pass” message and the ID:COM section will show a green color.
  • Now, you can disconnect the USB cable.
  • Reboot the smartwatch.
