How to Update HTC One X to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean CM 10.1 Nightly ROM

CM 10.1

Now I am going to  teach you how to install CyanogenMod 10.1 in your One X.  You just need to follow all of the steps listed below.

Pre-requisites:

  • Make sure that you’re an advanced Android user and you know exactly what you have to do.
  • This guide and all instructions listed here are only for HTC One X smartphone.
  • Do not use this for any other device. The HTC One X device needs to have an unlocked bootloader. It needs the root access to run  TWRP or CWM custom Recovery image installed on it.
  • Backup your current ROM and for that create a Nandroid backup. In case your device cannot boot in the normal mode after you flashed the new custom ROM, you can restore your actual ROM.
  • Backup all your critical data stored in your device, you can use the next tutorial for your important data.
  • Save your SMS with SMS backup and restore app.
  • Your call logs with call logs backup and restore app, APN Settings with APN Settings Backup and Restore application, use AppBack for your current application that you have installed on your Android device.
  • Save your significant photos, video files or any other files that you don’t want to lose. You can save these in the cloud or in your computer.
  • Note: If your HTC One X device is already running a CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly ROM then you can skip above step.
  • Sync all your Contacts with your Gmail account.
  • Verify the level of your device’s battery  and be sure to charge your smartphone’s battery. If the device doesn’t have enough power left, it can take a forced shutdown in the middle of the flashing process.
  • In case you lose any important data for you or you brick your device, the android.sc team cannot be held responsible. All your actions are at your own risk.
