How to Update HTC One X with Sense 4.1 Powered Custom ROM Firmware

A new version of custom ROM has been released for HTC One X by XDA team member by Venom Viper.  Pre-requisites:

  • Your smartphone must be rooted and  to verify if your HTC One X is rooted or not you need to download an application.
  • If your device is not rooted, you’ll need to root. Take a full backup for your all data stored in your HTC device.
  •  Note down the internet configuration from the next path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Disclaimer: All these instructions and the guide are only for educational and instructional propose. Apply all these instructions only for HTC One X smartphone.

  • You need to download and install the ROM Manager tool from Google Play Store.
  • Verify the level of the device’s battery, this must be more that 40%. Enable the USB Debugging from the next path: “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, there the USB debugging option need be checked.

  • First, download the Venom ROM Package from the link and save it in your PC.
  • Then, after the download is complete, connect the device to the PC, for that use the original USB cable for your device.
  • Copy and paste the downloaded zip file in your smartphone.
  • Does not placing the zip file deep in your smartphone in sub-folders; this may not be visible for your smartphone.
  • Download the ROM Manager app from the Google Play StoreStore, open it and Flash the Clock Work Mod Recovery. After that select “insert into recovery mode”. This is required for booting your smartphone in the recovery mode.
  • There in the recovery mode select “Wipe data/factory reset” and “Wipe Cache partition”.
  • In case your smartphone boot in the normal mode, then you should repeat the procedure to entering in the Recovery Mode.
  • In the Recovery Mode select “install zip from SD card” and then chose the copied zip file.
  • Confirm the installation and wait around 5-6 minutes for installing the update.
  • After the updating process is done, select “go back” and there select the “reboot” option, for rebooting your smartphone in the normal mode.

Important: If your device doesn’t boot up, or do not display the home screen, you need to remove the device’s battery and then reinsert the battery to boot in the Normal Mode the smartphone.
