Two of the most powerful Android devices, HTC One M7 and M8 Google Play Edition are now receiving the new official Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. The new update is expected to arrive any time starting today and it will be released by Over the Air (OTA) method.
The information comes from the official Joshua Worth Twitter Chanel, where we can see the print screen with the latest update. The new Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA update for the Google Play Edition of HTC One device will bring more stability, new features, better security, bug fixes and a fixed battery life for your device.
The new firmware comes only a few weeks after the new Android 4.4.3 KitKat update has been released. Starting today you should keep an eye in the device’s notification panel area where the new update will be announced automatically for your HTC One M7 or M8 GPe device, in order to download the firmware file and after that to install the same.
In the new Android 4.4.4 KK firmware you will find changes such as: CTS tets for OpenSSL’s early CCS issues, CTS test for Heartbleed Vulnerability, fixed a concurrency bug in OpenSSLHeartbleedTest, CTS test for Heartbleed Vulnerability in SSLSocket, the capability to block the access to java.lang.Object.getClass in injected Java objects
If the new update isn’t presented in the device’s notification area then you can also check for the new Android 4.4.4 KitKat update file by visiting the Settings> About Phone> System Updates and press the ‘Check Now’ button.
The new update can be downloaded and installed only by confirming the download process on your device and it will take care of the rest of the installation process.
Unfortunately, with this new update flashed on your Google Play Edition HTC One M7 or One M8 you might not see any notable visual modifications, but as you probably know that it is always better to have and run the newest and latest firmware version than using an older firmware version that might have different security bugs.
