Another Android 4.2.2 test firmware update has been released for global version of Samsung Galaxy S3 device GT-I9300 model number. This Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Leaked Test Firmware is named XXUFME7.

 

This new firmware for testing is a pre-release version for the future Android 4.2.2 which will be for Galaxy S3 device. How to install Android 4.2.2 XXUFME7 Jelly Bean on Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300

  1. Download Android 4.2.2 XXUFME7 Jelly Bean leak firmware file from here and save it in your PC.
  2. Now extract the downloaded file with the firmware archive to get a .tar.md5 file with few other files on your PC.
  3. Download Odin v3.07 from the link and extract it to get Odin3 v3.07.exe file and some other files.
  4. Power off  the Samsung Galaxy S3 device.
  5. Boot it into Download Mode. To do that press and keep holding the Volume Down  + Home + Power buttons at the same time until an Android robot and a triangle will be displayed on your device screen, and now confirm the Download Mode with the Power button.
  6. Now, open Odin3 v3.07.exe tool as an administrator.
  7. Next, connect the Samsung Galaxy S3 device to the PC with the help of USB cable while the S3 device is on the Download Mode.
  8. Verify on the ODIN interface and make sure that it turns yellow color and the COM port number will be displayed. Also, when the connection is established a message from ODIN says Added message.
  9. In case the ODIN application does not display the Added message, you have to disconnect the S3 device from PC and try to reconnect it on other USB port and then re-install USB drivers on your PC.
  10.  Select the following files from the folder where you have been extracted the downloaded file (I9300XXUFME7 folder) to install on the S3 device:
    • From the ODIN app, click the PDA button and from the window that was opened select the .tar.md5 file.
    • Now from ODIN click the Phone button and from the window that was opened, select file that contain MODEM in its name (in the case isn’t there you can skip this step).
    • Click the CSC button from ODIN app and select file that contain CSC in its name. In case,  this file doesn’t there you can ignore this step.
    • Click the PIT button from ODIN app and on the window that was opened select the .pit file and load it. In case,  this file isn’t there you can ignore this step.

Important: go to ODIN and configure its settings like this. Make sure that check the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time  checkboxes are selected.  Make sure that the Re-Partition option is unchecked; select it only if a .pit file is loaded previously.

  1. Now, when you are ready to start the installation firmware, click the Start button in Odin application.
  2. Immediately the flashing process should start, and you have to wait until ODIN will complete the installation process.
  3. When the flashing process is done, the S3 device will take an automatically restart. Also, when the installation  is done  successfully, completed ODIN application will say a PASS message with green background.
  4. When the device completes the first boot, and the home screen is displayed, disconnect the USB cable from PC.
  5. Congratulations, you successfully learnt how to install the leaked test firmware Android 4.2.2 XXUFME7 Jelly Bean on Samsung Galaxy S3.
  6. Now for verifying your actual firmware which is running on your S3 device, you should navigate to the following path: Settings>About phone.

Troubleshooting:

In case the Samsung Galaxy S3 device gets stuck or it is entering on a bootloop at the booting animation, you have to do:

  • Force to power off your device.
  • Boot it into recovery mode menu, for doing that you need press and keep holding the Home+Power+Volume UP buttons at the same time.
  • From the main Recovery Mode menu select wipe data/factory reset and after that select wipe cache partition. On this step,  a full backup is needing because a wipe data will erase all your existent data from internal device’s memory.
  • Now, returns your device on the main Recovery Mode menu and from there select reboot system now.

Note: In Recovery Mode menu you have use Volume keys for scrolling and Power buttons for confirming the options.
