Install CM 11 Android 4.4 KitKat Firmware on Galaxy Note N7000

Samsung Galaxy Note N700 is a very popular Android device among smartphone users across the world. Unfortunately, the new official Android 4.4 KitKat Firmware will be available for this device next year (the exact date isn’t yet known).

The present step-by-step guide will teach you how to manually install the CM 11 build based on Android 4.4 KitKat Firmware on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 phablet.

How to install the CM 11 Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROM firmware on Galaxy Note N7000

  1. Download the latest CM 11 Android 4.4 KitKat update file from here and save it in your PC, do not extract (don’t unzip) the same.
  2. Download the Google applications pack from here, save it to your PC . Don’t extract it.
  3. Connect the Galaxy Note N7000 device to the PC  using the USB cable.
  4. Now, move the downloaded files from the PC on the Note N7000 device’s SD card.
  5. After transferring the downloaded file, the transfer process is complete, disconnect the USB cable from PC.
  6. Power off the Note device and boot it into recovery mode, to enter into recovery mode you can use our tutorial from here.
  7. From the Recovery mode select “wipe data factory reset” and then “wipe cache partition”.
  8. Now, return and select from the main menu of Recovery Mode the “wipe dalvick cache”.
  9. Next, return to recovery mode and from there, select “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”.
  10. Browse and select the transferred CM 11 firmware and install the new custom ROM update on Galaxy Note N7000 device.
  11. Next, repeat the same flashing process and install the Google Apps pack.
  12. When the installation process is done, from the main menu of Recovery Mode select “reboot system now”.

Troubleshooting:

If the Note device gets stuck in a boot loop, you need to enter into recovery mode and from there select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
