The CyanogenMode 10.1.2 stable firmware is now available from the CyanogenMod team. This step by step tutorial will teach you how to update Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 device with this latest CM 10.1.2 stable ROM.

For applying this instruction manual, you need to be an advanced Android user because it is a manually update. If something goes wrong you can easily brick or damage your device.  This new update comes with numerous new tweaks and new security patches.

Pre-requisites:

Note: In case the S3 device is already updated and running a previous CM 10.1 build firmware, you might not be forced to apply a “factory reset” task. Just in case the S3 device enters into a boot loop at the first boot, you have to enter into Recovery Mode again and repeat the entire step by step guide once again.

  8. From Recovery Mode menu select ‘backup and restore’ option for creating a full Nandroid backup for your actual ROM.
  9. Now, from Recovery Mode menu select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ and confirm this task.

  11. Browse and load the copied CM 10.1.2 zip file and confirm its installation process.
  12.  Now wait until the CM 10.1.2 stable ROM is successfully installed, return to the previous screen on Recovery Mode menu and from there select again ‘choose zip from sdcard’. Browse for this time the copied Gapps zip and flash it too.
