Install Official JB 4.2.2 XXUAMFA Firmware on Galaxy Tab 3 P5210 (WiFi version)

For all Samsung lovers, it has just released the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean XXUAMFA update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Wi-Fi version model number p5210. Now we  will teach you how to manually install the official Android 4.2.2 JB XXUAMFA OS on Tab 3 device. This latest update is also available by OTA but not for all Tab 3 Wi-Fi version owners.

 

This new update comes with new applications, possibility to customize your OS, several bug fixed to improve your Android experience with the latest new features capability.

If you have a Galaxy Tab 3 rooted device or a running a custom ROM OS, you cannot receive and install automatically the new official updates.

In case you apply a stock ROM firmware the root aces will be revoked and your device will be restored to factory restrictions.

This manual update isn’t an official procedure, and that’s why you need to be careful, and to know exactly what you have to do.

Pre-requisites:

  • Backup the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 stored data on the internal device’s memory.
  • Save your SMS, call logs history, EFS folder, internet settings, all applications, images, videos and so on.
  •  In case you have installed a custom recovery image like CWM or TWRP recovery you can get a full backup of your current ROM using the Nandroid backup.
  • During the step by step guide,  a Windows PC and the device’s USB cord will be necessary.
  • Uninstall or deactivate the security protection tools form both PC and Tab 3 tablet, applications such as antivirus or firewall.
  • Enable the USB debugging option from the next path: “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging”.
  • This guide works only with Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 model number P5210 WiFi version.

How to Update Galaxy Tab 3 P5210 (WiFi version) to Official JB 4.2.2 XXUAMFA Firmware

  1. Download the firmware file from here and save the same on your PC.
  2. Extract the downloaded content on desktop folder of your PC.
  3. Download Odin, extract the same and install Odin application.
  4. Now, run Odin app on your computer.
  5. Verify if the drivers for your Tab 3 device are installed on your PC.
  6. Turn off your Galaxy Tab 3 device.
  7. Next, boot the Galaxy Tab 3 P5210 tablet into download mode. For doing that you need to press and keep holding the Volume Down, Power and Menu buttons simultaneously.
  8. While the tablet is on the download mode menu, connect the tablet to PC using its USB cable.
  9. Now, look the ODIN interface and a “added” message need to be displayed and the ID:COM section will be collared on yellow or blue.
  10. In case,  ODIN doesn’t say “added” message and collared the ID:COM section, you need to reinstall the drivers again and repeat all the steps from beginning.
  11. Now select the “PDA” option from ODIN.
  12. Next, pick the firmware file from the extracted desktop folder.
  13. Then, when you are ready to begin click on “start”.
  14. When the installation process is done ODIN will say “pass” message
  15.  Now, disconnect the USB cable from PC.
  16. Reboot your Tab 3 tablet.

Troubleshooting

  • In case you complet the step by step guide, when you reboot the device, it will get stuck or entering in a boot loop, then you have to do:
  1. First, reboot the device.
  2. Second, boot the tablet into recovery mode( press and keep holding Power, Menu and Volume Up buttons on the same time)
  3. Now, from recovery mode menu select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
  4. After you complete a wipe select “+++go back+++” for returning on the recovery main menu and from there select “reboot system now”.
  • In case ODIN is stuck during the installation procedure you’ll have to do:
  1. Disconnect the tablet from PC by removing the USB cable.
  2. Force restart the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 device.
  3. Now, close Odin app.
  4. Go, and reinstall the drivers once again.
  5.  Repeat all the installation procedure steps for the beginning.
