New software update version 1.58.502.1 for AT&T HTC One M8 brings Extreme Power Saving Mode and 50GB of free Google Drive storage offer

HTC began to push out a new software update with a set of enhancements for the HTC One M8 handsets on the network of AT&T wireless carrier.
The new firmware version of the HTC One M8, prepared as version 1.58.502.1, adds the Extreme Power Saving Mode which will make the handset to last 14 days, according to HTC.
HTC also mentions that with 5% battery life left, Extreme Power Saving  Mode will be capable of providing the user an extra 15 hours.
Extreme Power Saving Mode was one of the characteristics missing from the US variants of the HTC One M8, because this feature had to be recognized by US carriers before being included in the smartphones, which meant that the HTC One M8 was released without Extreme Power Saving Mode feature.

Happily, the feature has gained the approvals, and HTC has begun to make it available for HTC One M8 smartphones in the US.
Moreover, the new software version 1.58.502.1, is also intended to resolve a problem that has been stopping users from redeeming the offer of 50GB of free Google Drive storage that is prepared for them.

Regarding the update, you should go over to Settings -> About -> Software information to check if your HTC One M8 device is running under the new firmware version 1.58.502.1 and you can redeem the offer of free storage, but you will need to reset the Google Drive app before that. For that just start over to Settings, scroll down to Apps, and then go to the All tab by scrolling left, scroll down to Google Drive, and tap the Clear data key. After that, you just need to launch the Google Drive application and sing in, and the 50GB of free storage should be available for you.
So if you are an AT&T HTC One M8 owner and you did not receive the update go into Settings -> AT&T Software Update -> Check for updates to check manually for it.
