Nokia to launch Z Launcher for Android, pre-beta version now available

Nokia has launched Z Launcher, his first launcher for Android.
Android Launchers represent complex applications that can customize your device. It is a powerful feature that someone can have on their Android handset.
A launcher can improve the appearance and functionality of the app drawer and home screen, which allows owners to install themes and change icons to their liking.

The Finnish manufacturer has released the first beta of the application, which is working with all the latest devices without root (Nexus 5, Galaxy S5, Moto X, Xperia Z1, and so on), so not only with the Nokia X.

Z Launcher is a launcher rather minimal, and that makes simplicity its strength. We can find in the upper part the date, time and weather displayed  in transparency, with a minimalist design and very clean. Likewise, displays installed applications, which are within easy reach.
There is also an opportunity to enter the dock, and uses in the home screen, so as not to miss the opportunity to see some notifications directly on the main screen.

In short, although it is still in pre-beta version is already quite complete and running.
The Z Launcher application for Android should be published in the Google Play Store, in the coming weeks.

Before installing the app on your Android handset make sure it is supported, as the app is optimized for devices that include the following ones: Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Nexus 5, Moto X, Sony Xperia Z1, HTC One.

The interesting thing of the launcher is, however, even in gesture, through which we can write a letter with a finger, on the screen to search for apps and content, both on the phone and online, that match what you typed. If you write more letters the results will be more precise. You can also change settings for the launcher and check for updates in the launcher’s settings.

If you want to try the application prior to the official publication in Play Store, go to the Z Launcher website from your Android device and download the app, or download the APK from here.

In the case when this is the first time you have installed an application outside of the Google Play Store, you will need to enable installing apps from Unknown Sources (Settings->Security->Unknown sources).

Upon downloading the Z Launcher app, tap the file name and install it, and then set it as the default Home for your Android device. In order to do that, when the download is complete you need to go to your notification bar and tap the zLauncher.apk, tap “Install” and give permission to the Android. After the installation tap “Open, now Z Launcher will run and guide you through a tutorial.

Once the tutorial is ended you need to set Z Launcher( “Always” button) as the default Home app for your Android device( you can go back to your previous Android launcher at any time, if you like).
