Xperia Z2 is a device of the highest quality with a spectacular display of 5.3 inches, one of the most beautiful appeared lately and a luxury housing that challenges their own specifications.
Now, a new device from Sony, the Xperia Z2a, will launch in Taiwan and is scheduled for early July, although there is no word whether will be marketed outside of Taiwan. This new smartphone has much in common with the Xperia Z2 handset launched by Sony early this year.
In the case of Z2a, we are dealing with aFull HD 5-inch, 1920x1080p display, quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2.3 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 20. 7 megapixel camera on the back with autofocus Exmor RS sensor, WiFi, Bluetooth, AGPS and Glonass connectivity and a 3000 mAh battery, plus IP55/IP58 certification that confirms its water resistance. The Xperia Z2a will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box and will be available in Black, White and Turquoise.
So, if we compare the Xperia Z2a with Xperia Z2, we will find these two quite similar with small differences.
Xperia Z2a is with only 0.2 inches less than the Sony Xperia Z2 and is positioned as a smaller version whose design differs slightly, especially at the back that gives the impression of being made of plastic and has brimmed edges, not like Z2 that has smooth edges, essentially it is much like the Xperia ZL2 smartphone that was released by Sony last month in Japan.
However, one significant difference between the Z2a and ZL2 smartphones is that the first has 16GB internal storage, while the ZL2 features a 32GB native storage. Moreover, the new Xperia Z2a will be the first Sony device to support Taiwan’s full-band 4G LTE network.
No details about price, and intentions related to the launch in other markets.
