This software is compatible for Windows and Linux SO, and you need to have Java installed on your computer for running it.
Rooting is a complex process and you need to be an advanced Android user. All instruction from this article are only for the educational purpose. Pre-requisites:
- Apply these instructions only for LG Optimus G model number LS970. Do not use this guide with any other android device.
- Deactivate all of the security application like as antivirus, firewall from both your PC and your device.
- Make a full backup for your critical data stored on your device. You can move all of the data in your PC.
- Enable USB debugging option from your smartphone’s Android Developer Options.
- In case you lose any data in the rooting or unlocking bootloader process, you cannot blame us. Verify the level of of battery charging and make sure it is at least 70%. Not doing this can lead to forced stop of this phone.

- First, you need download the GAIO tool from HERE and save it in your PC, this tool is a jar file.
- Second,, connect the Sprint device to your computer using the original USB cable that you have for your device. The smartphone should be in Charge Only mode.
- Now, you need to launch the GAIO tool by double-clicking it. ‘Install Windows LG Driver’ on your PC. If you have Linux operating system then skips the drivers installing step.
- Select ‘Root LG Optimus G’. This option will allow you to root your smartphone. When this step is done, you can go to the next step.
- Now, select ‘Unlock Bootloader’ in order to unlock your smartphone’s bootloader.
- If you wish to install a custom recovery, you need to select ‘install custom recovery’ option.
- Into Fastboot Mode, you won’t observe the custom recovery mode menu, but the app existing there. To open the Recovery Mode, you have to press “Volume Down” twice time.
