Update Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 to latest Android 4.1.2 XXCMI2 Jelly Bean Official Firmware

  1. Download and install the Note 10.1 USB drivers to the PC. In additional you can use the Samsung KIES software for install the suitable drivers for the Android device.
  2. Download and install the ODIN software. (Save it in your PC, then unzip the file and install the ODIN app).
  3. Download the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware file from here.
  4. Save the file to the PC and unzip it on the desktop.
  5. Run ODIN application on the PC.
  6. Turn off completely the Note 10.1 device.
  7. Boot the Note 10.1 device into download mode by pressing and keeping holding the Volume Down, Power and Home buttons simultaneous.
  8. While the ODIN app is launched on the PC connect the Note 10.1 device to computer via USB cord.
  9. Wait for ODIN recognize the device, it must to display the “added” message and also the ID:COM section have to be turned yellow or blue.
  10. If the ODIN doesn’t display the “added” message and the yellow or blue color isn’t displayed re-install the USB drivers once again on your PC, and then repeat all the steps from the beginning of the installation guide.
  11. Now, click on the “PDA” option from ODIN.
  12. Pick the extracted downloaded firmware file and click on “START” button from ODIN.
  13. Do not perform any other changes on ODIN app.
  14. The installation process will be done when on ODIN application the “pass” message will be displayed together with the ID:COM section turned on green color.
  15. Disconnect the USB cable from the PC.
  16.  Reboot the Galaxy Note 10.1 device.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Boot your device into recovery mode.
  2. From the recovery mode select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”;
  3. Return to the main menu of the recovery mode and select “ reboot system now”.
  1. Disconnect the device from the PC by removing the USB cable.
  2. Force restarts the Note 10.1 device.
  3. Close the ODIN app.
  4. Reinstall once again the USB drivers.
  5. Repeat the installation process from the beginning.
