How to Update Galaxy S I9000 to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with AOSP Custom ROM Firmware

  • Disable the security software installed on your computer and your smartphone. These can interfere with the updating process.
  • In your smartphone menu enable the USB debugging option.
  • Verify your device battery if the level indicate below 60% power level. ,

Update Galaxy S I9000 to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with AOSP Custom ROM Firmware

  1. First, download the update package from here and save it in your PC.
  2. Download the Google Apps pack from here and save it in your computer.
  3. Connect your smartphone to PC with the help of original USB cable.
  4. Now, do not extract the downloaded files, only copy and paste from the PC to your smartphone’s SD card
  5. Disconnect your smartphone from the PC.
  6. Now, turn off your Galaxy S smartphone and reboot it into the CWM recovery. For entering in the CWM recovery mode, you must press at the same time and hold the Volume Up and Home buttons and the power on button.
  7. There in the recovery menu, select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. Now, select “+++go back+++”.
  8. And now select “install zip from sd card” and then “choose zip from sd card”.
  9. Now, select the copied zip file and install it on your smartphone.
  10. Re-do the last step, for installing the Google Apps pack in your phone.
  11. Now, after the successfully installations, select “+++go back+++” and there select “reboot system now”.
