Samsung Galaxy S II GT I9100G device has received a custom ROM firmware based on Jellybean 4.2. This custom ROM is not an official firmware update of Jellybean 4.2. For Samsung Galalxy S2 GT I9100G release.
Pre-requisites
- Create a full backup for your actual ROM installed on your smartphone. , Note: You don’t backup your data with the KIES or ROM Manager methods.
- To save your SMS download and use the SMS Backup & Restore app. To sync your contact, you can use an easy method to sync your Contacts with the Gmail Account.
- For the personal information, like image, video files, documents, or any type of files stored in your device you can copy to internal / External SD Card and get the same copy in your PC.
- To save your Internet Settings, APN and MMS settings, then you need to note down from the next path: “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Enable the USB Debugging from the next path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”, there the USB debugging option must be ticked.
- Verify your device battery level and ensure it remains above 50% level. You need a Windows PC and the original USB cord for the connection between the smartphone and computer.
- Verify if has active USB ports and there must be full full access. Your device must be rooted for this custom ROM. Verify your S2 is rooted or not with the “Root Checker” app. If it is not rooted you need to root your device, and after flash this new custom ROM.

How to Update Galaxy S GT I9000 with Jellybean 4.2 Firmware
- First, download the the Jellybean 4.2 Firmware Package and save it in your PC.
- Second,, download the Jellybean 4.2 Firmware Package and save it in your computer.
- Connect the smartphone to the PC using the original USB cable.
- Copy and Paste the two downloaded files in your smartphone.
- Now disconnect your smartphone from the PC and then download the “ROM Manager” from the Google Play Store.
- Open the application and grant the Superuser access, for that you need to select on the “Grant” option.

- Select the “install zip from sd card” then find and chose the copied Cyanogen Mod 10 Jellybean 4.2 Zip Package and then Google Apps Package, wait around 5 minutes for installing the update, sometimes can take more than expect time for update the firmware.
- After the firmware was successfully installed, select “go back”and there “reboot system now”.
- Verify if the firmware was installed or not following the path “Settings > About Phone” and there examine the firmware version.
