How to Update HTC Desire HD to Pre-Alpha Unofficial Android 4.2 Jelly Bean AOSP custom ROM

If you have the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in your HTC Desire HD, your device has received a custom ROM built of Android 4.2 by a XDA developer.

 

Pre-requisites:

  1.  First download the pre-alpha custom ROM zip package from this link and save it to your PC. Don’t extract the file, only save it on your desktop PC.
  2. Now, connect your smartphone to your PC with the help of USB cord.
  3. Copy and paste the pre-alpha custom ROM zip file on the internal device SD card. When the file is copied, disconnect your smartphone from the computer.
  4. Now, power off your HTC Desire HD device and after that boot the device into CMW Recovery mode.
  5. There in the CMW Recovery mode select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ option and after that confirm this action.
  6. Select ‘install zip from sdcard’ and ‘choose zip from sdcard’ there find the pre-alpha custom ROM zip and confirm your installation.
  7. When the custom ROM is installed,  you need to return in the main CWM Recovery menu, select ‘reboot system now’. Your device will perform a restart, wait around 6 minutes for flashing process.
  8. Now, join your Google Account and after that you’ll have all control over your HTC Desire HD device.

That’s all, now you can enjoy and test your new custom ROM.
