Update Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082 to Official Android 4.2.2 JB XXUBMHF Firmware

4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware XXUBMHF

When you don’t want to change your handset, you certainly wish to upgrade it. Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082 users have got a good news as Official Android 4.2.2 JB XXUBMHF Firmware is ready to update the existing handset with new features.

Once installed, the new Android not only offers new applications, it offers stability in comparison to its previous version. With a better life and big fixing features, this new android is a gift for the Samsung mobile users. We are ready with a tutorial for those who didn’t receive the official OTA release with the new JB XXUBMHF update.

This firmware has been released by OTA for limited markets and in coming days it will be released for other markets in a phased manner. This tutorial is useful for users who have a Grand rooted device and an unlocked one. As you probably know that the rooted devices and the unlocked devices don’t receive the OTA update, so in these cases a manual installing procedure is necessary in order to install an official firmware.

For manually flashing we advise to use ODIN software, which is a dedicated flashing tool developed by Samsung.

Pre-requisites and guidelines:

  • It will work for both, rooted and un-rooted devices.
  • Installing an official firmware, you can restore the warranty for Grand device, if it has been previously voided during different rooting or custom process.
  • The guide doesn’t require having a custom recovery image installed on your device; Odin will be used for flashing the firmware file.
  • The guide uses a manual method, and that’s why you need to be an Android advanced user who knows to work with ODIN app.
  •  A Windows based PC, the Galaxy Grand device and its USB cable must be near you.
  •  Uninstall or deactivate/ disable all the security programs that are running on your PC or laptop.
  •  Download and install on the computer the suitable USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy Grand
  •  Ensure that the device’ battery has more than 70 % power left level otherwise it may face a forced shutdown during the flashing process.
  • Moreover, enable the USB debugging mode option from the following path: “settings>applications> development”.
  •  Backup all your data stored into your device’ internal memory. By using ODIN tool, the data will not be deleted as the system won’t be wiped, but remember that, this is a manual method and is better to have your data safe. In the rare cases, the data can be corrupted.
