This latest update Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXBME1 firmware is an official update released by Samsung for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and it is available for installing by OTA.

The present article has two parts—  the first one contains the pre-requisites required to be applied and the second part presents how to  manually update the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 with the stock XXBME1 firmware.

This tutorial is provided for all the Note 8.0 N5120 users who haven’t received this latest update by OTA in their device until now.

For applying this official JB 4.1.2 XXBME1 firmware, you don’t need a rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, this process works for both versions, rooted or locked devices.

Another advantage is that the warranty won’t get void by applying this official firmware. In case,  your Note 8.0 device is a rooted device, by applying an official update for it, the warranty will be restored, and the root rights will be removed. The  stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS will be reinstalled with all factory restrictions.

We will use the ODIN app (a flashing software developed by Samsung) for flashing this new firmware, so you don’t need to have a custom recovery image installed into your device; you don’t need to replace the official recovery image with a custom one.

So, before beginning the flashing step by step tutorial take the backup of all your data stored in your device’s internal memory as a precaution.

A Windows PC will be used to install the ODIN app. You also need a  USB cord and of course the Note 8.0 tablet.

Uninstall or deactivate the security applications running in the Android device and the PC, programs such as Antivirus or Firewall. These kinds of applications can interfere with the installation process and to produce different interruptions which can affect the updating process.

Verify the power level in your device’s battery, we recommend you to charge the device until the level of the battery becomes  more than 85% power left.

Enable the USB debugging option from the next path: “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging”. This option will allow the connection between Android device and your PC that you’ll use in the flashing process.

Use this present tutorial only for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 model number N5120. Do not try to apply the same for any other similar device.
