How To Update Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE I9210 to Official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXUAMF1 Firmware

This week the Galaxy S2 LTE model number I9210 Swedish users receive the new official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware by OTA, namely XXUAMF1 OTA update. If you have not received the update, you can still do it if you follow the instructions mentioned in the file. How to Install  Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXUAMF1 Firmware on Galaxy S2 LTE (I9210)

  1. Download and install the S2 drivers on your PC, you can also use the Samsung Kies application to do this.
  2. Download the Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXUAMF1 Firmware package from here and save it on the desktop.
  3. Extract the downloaded file.
  4. Download Odin, save it into PC, unzip and install it.
  5. Run Odin app as Administrator.
  6. Power off the S2 device, wait around 10 seconds with the device turned off, before to move to the next step.
  7. Now, boot the device into Download Mode, to do this press on Power, Home and Volume Down buttons simultaneous.
  8. Connect the Galaxy S2 LTE (I9210) device to PC using the USB cord while it is into Download Mode and the ODIN is running.
  9. Now, verify if the connection is established, Odin must to recognize the S2 device and the ID:COM section should be colored yellow or blue and the  “added” message must to be showed.
  10. If not, you need to disconnect the S2 device from PC, close ODIN app, reinstall the USB drivers and repeat all the steps from the beginning.
  11. Now, select PDA option from ODIN.
  12. Browse and pick the update file from PC.
  13. Make sure that the re-partition and f. reset time options from ODIN are unchecked.
  14. Now, click on “start”.
  15. Wait until the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is applied.
  16. When the flashing process is completely done, the ODIN app will display the “pass” message and the ID:COM section will be green.
  17. Reboot the S2 smartphone.

Troubleshooting:

If the Samsung Galaxy S2 gets stuck or it is entering in a boot loop you will have to:

  1. Reboot the S2 device into Recovery Mode (press and keep holding volume up, power and home buttons at the same time).
  2. Now, from the recovery mode select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.

If the Odin gets stuck during the installation process, you have to:

  1. Disconnect the S2 device from PC.
  2. Close Odin
  3. Reinstall the USB drivers on PC.
  4. Force restart the Samsung Galaxy S2, and repeat all the step as mentioned above.
