Update the Sony Xperia Z to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with PACman custom ROM

The Sony Xperia Z running by default Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware, but the users who want to install the latest Android 4.2.2 can flash a custom ROM firmware developed by PAC team named PACman custom ROM based on Android 4.2.2.

This latest custom ROM comes with a great combination between CyanogenMod AOKP and Paranoid Android OS.

Today, during a step by step tutorial we will teach you how to install Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean using the PACman ROM on the Sony Xperia Z device, thanks of a senior XDA developer named jeroenqui which shared with us this custom ROM (PACman v22.1.0).

From the developer, we noted that this custom ROM is a stable firmware, but each custom ROM is known that can has minor bugs or issues, for more details you can find in the development page from here.

Before starting our step by step tutorial some prerequisites are required to be applied, and for that we will present you guidelines below:

How to  install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on Sony Xperia Z (custom PACman ROM) – step by step guide:

cd c:Fastboot  

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot boot.img

On this step, when the boot.img is fully flashed on the Sony Xperia Z device, you should to see a message saying finished or okay.

 

Note: In case the new ROM does not work, restore the previous ROM that you’ve got previously with the NANDROID backup. To do that turn off the Sony Xperia Z smartphone into Recovery Mode, to do that you need press and keep holding the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneous. From the Recovery Mode, select the Backup and Restore and then select Restore. Browse the previously ROM and select it to be restored.
