Sony has released a new bug-fixing firmware update with the build number 12.1.A.1.201 that will probably neutralize the bad news regarding the fact that Xperia SP will not receive the Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update yet. The new build tracks the last Android 4.3 firmware published, the build number 12.1.A.0.266.
The Sony company has refreshed the Xperia SP support pages were you can see the highlights to the new build features with enhanced user experience, increased battery life and software performance enhancements.
The new firmware is by now received by plenty of different regions for all the Xperia SP variants C5302, C5303 and C5306.
To see if an update is available for your Xperia SP device go to Settings -> About phone -> Software updates -> System updates. To avoid data traffic is recommended that you use a Wi-Fi connection.
The availability of updates depends on your country or carrier.
