Yahoo Aviate Launcher Updated With Custom Collections And Bug Fixes

Aviate Custom Collections

Aviate that came out of beta around two months ago after was acquired by Yahoo differs from the rest of the launchers in that it has a design based on cards, reminiscent to that of Google Now, it is showing you different, and customized information based on location and time.

Yahoo Aviate shows you various information when you need them such as weather information, emails, traffic, events, and even attractions or restaurants nearby and also organizes your applications in categories.

Yahoo Aviate has just been updated, and besides of usual bug fixes it adds a single, but important feature that make the launcher more useful: now you create your custom collections of applications based on your preferences.

Aviate interface uses five screens, their number being unalterable and the starting point is always the Home panel. If you scroll to the right, the launcher will present the first of its particular features: applications grouped by provided functions. Immediately after you install an app, the software will catalog all the local applications that are divided into different categories like Productivity, Social, Utilities, Games, Finance, Photography or Music and will try to fit the app in one of those, but now the user can create other additional lists of categories and also could organize or edit one already created.

Creating your custom collections is very simple, you just need to scroll down to your list of collections, then tap on the “+Add Collection” button, and scroll down to the bottom of the list to see the “Create Your Own” option. Now you just need to name the collection, and that is all.

The update is available for download in Google Play Store and should be rolling out to all Yahoo Aviate users soon. If you do not have the Yahoo Aviate launcher on your Android device you can give it a try, it is free.
