Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA Update Now Rolling Out To LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition

The users of LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition devices already started to receive Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA update.

From the Android version 4.4.2 LG G Pad Google Play Edition tablet will be updated directly with Android version 4.4.4 skipping the version 4.4.3 of KitKat Android 4.4.4 is a minor update, being concentrated on improving security.

However, the users that will install the official Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on their LG G Pad 8.3 GPE devices will also get the modifications brought by the Android version 4.4.3 such as the partially restyled Phone Dialer app with a card-based interface, as well as minor changes made for the People app.

Like all the OTA updates, the Android 4.4.4 OTA update for LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is being rolled out in stages, meaning that not all users might be able to download and install it at once.

In order to be able to install the new update, you need to have Android 4.4.2 build number KOT49H on your G PAD 8.3 GPE device.

So, once your G Pad 8.3 GPE will become suitable to receive the new firmware update, you will get a system update message in the notification area. Tap on the message and follow the instructions appeared on the screen. If the automatic system update notification failed to prompt, you can perform a manual check under Settings -> About tablet -> System updates -> Check now.

You can also manually flash Android 4.4.4 update on your G Pad 8.3 GPE device.

First you will need the OTA ZIP file that can be downloaded from here, and then you will have to flash it from the “adb sideload” command or like any other ZIP from a recovery.

We should also note that the LG G Pad 8.3 Android 4.4.4 update is listed with the build number KTU84P.L002 and that it has a size of around 150 MB.
Your LG G Pad 8.3 GPE’s battery should be charged 80 percent or more to avoid power interruption issues while the installation process completes, also make sure there is enough memory space on your tablet.
