One of the most popular Android tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 has received the latest official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware released by OTA.
The new firmware update has been released to solve the bugs reported on the previous version of the firmware. This latest OTA update is dubbed as ZCUANA2 and is based on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
This present step by step guide is to teach you how to install the official ZCUANA2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS update by using a manual guide.
This is about an official update and not a custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, and for installing the same, we will use the ODIN application.
It can be used for both rooted and locked Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.10.1 devices. It is to be noted that by installing an official update on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 device, the root access will be revoked and the warranty for the device will be restored.
The new update comes with some bub fixes, stability, improvements and new features.
Pre-requisites:
- Take the complete data backup.
- Use the Helium application in the Google Play Store for saving your data from the device’s internal storage memory.
- Use a Windows Pc and the USB cable to establish a connection between the device and the PC.
- Enable the USB debugging option from the: menu-settings>developer option.
- Deactivate all antiviruses temporarily.
- Ensure that the Android tablet has more than 65% power left into its battery; Use this information only for the instructional purpose.
- The latest Android 4.2.2 ZCUANA2 JB OS has been officially provided for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 model number P5200 only. Don’t use this for any other device.
How to Install the Official ZCUANA2 Android 4.2.2 JB Firmware on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 P5200
- Download the ZCUANA2 file form here, and save it on your PC. download the Android
- Download Odin app and Samsung KIES software from here and save the same on your PC.
- Unzip the ODIN application and install it on your PC.
- Unzip the downloaded ZCUANA2 file on the same folder where you’ve unzipped the ODIN app.
- Download and install the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 USB drivers on your PC by using the Samsung KIES application.
- Open the ODIN app on your PC.
- Turn off the Android tablet.
- Boot the TAB 3 10.1 P5200 tablet in Download Mode by pressing and holding the volume down and home buttons at the same time.
- Now, by using a USB cable connect the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 device to PC.
- Now, the ODIN app will say the “added” message and the ID:COM section must be yellow or blue. If not, you need to close the ODIN application, disconnect the USB cable and force to restart your device, repeat all the process from above.
- Now, from ODIN application select the “PA” button.
- Select and load the ZCUANA2 firmware file.
- Do not make any other changes from ODIN.
- Click on the “START” button from ODIN.
- When the new update is completely installed on the Android device the “pass” message will be displayed and the ID:COM section will be colored green.
- Now, disconnect the USB cable from the PC and reboot the tablet.
