Flash Official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware on Xperia Tablet Z

Sony has released the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware update for its Xperia Tablet Z.  The new firmware has built number 10.3.1.A.0.244, and is currently available for LTE version of Xperia Tablet Z device SGP321.The new update is available via PC Companion or SUS.   It integrates several notable features and changes including enhanced UI.

The new firmware works only with Xperia Tablet Z SGP321 model number, and is built on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version and has 10.3.1.A.0.244 Build number. It has 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110057-39 Baseband version and was built in July, 2013 .

This stock build firmware works only for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z LTE (SGP321) with 16 GB storage capacity version.

Pre-requisites:

  • Android Source team will not be liable for any damage done to your phone.
  • Download and install the appropriate USB Driver for Sony Xperia Tablet Z device.
  • Enable USB Debugging mode on the Z tablet. (Press Menu -> Settings -> Applications, now tap on Development option,  check the USB Debugging Mode.
  • Create a full backup for all of your data stored into device’s internal memory, if the Sony Xperia Tablet Z device has a custom recovery image such as CWM or TWRP recovery flashed on it, perform a full Nandroid backup.
  • Charge the Xperia Tablet Z device’s battery to the 80 % level.
  • The Xperia Tablet Z device should be not be locked to a particular carrier.
  • The device will lose the custom ROM with the installation of official firmware. Additionally, it will lose custom recovery such as ClockworkMod/TWRP which will be replaced by stock recovery.
  • The tablet will no longer belong to a rooted version with the installation of official build.
  •  This new update (the official Android 4.2.2 (10.3.1.A.0.244) Jelly Bean firmware) works only with LTE version of Sony Xperia Tablet Z SGP321 version. Don’t  install the same on any other  variant..
  • To verify the model number  or by navigating to Settings –About tablet-> Model number.

How to install Android 4.2.2 (10.3.1.A.0.244) Jelly Bean on Samsung Xperia Tablet Z SGP321  

  1. Download the new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean official firmware file from here or click here,   save it to the PC.
  2. Now, move the downloaded official file.ftf in the C:flashtoolfirmwares folder in the PC.
  3. Next, download and install Sony Flashtool from here on the PC.
  4. Open the Flashtool app on the PC.
  5. From the Flashtool, select Flashmode and click OK.
  6. Move to the path folder from  where you copied the downloaded stock .ftf firmware files on the PC, and select the firmware file.
  7. Now, if you want to wipe out all device data before flashing, on the right sidebar make sure you check Data, Cache, APPSLOG boxes.
  8. If you want to keep the device data, uncheck all the boxes.
  9. Next, press the Flash button from the Flashtool to start the flashing process.
  10. After you pressed the Flash button, a message appears saying that Preparing files for flashing
  11. Now, connect the Sony Xperia Z device to the PC by using USB cable.
  12. Follow the prompt steps and instructions.
  13. Disconnect the Sony Xperia Z device.
  14. Then, turn off the Sony Xperia Z device.
  15. Now, enter on Flash Mode on the Xperia Z device (to do that press and keep holding the Volume Down button with the tablet connected to PC using the USB cable
  16. Next, the flashing process will begin now.
  17. Now wait until the flashing process is completed, you’ll be notified by a message in Flashtool software saying that Flashing finished
  18. Disconnect the tablet from the PC.
  19. Restart the Xperia device, this restart will take a few minutes.
  20.  The Sony Xperia Z device should  now be running with the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware.
  21. To verify the new firmware version is running on the device, you need to go to the next path: Settings-> About tablet-> Android & Baseband version.
